Updates
Not much news, but soul knight changed their profile picture to dead cells collab. This has quite a lot of potential, both being rogue likes. Main difference is one is top view and other is platform.

Very nice. New biome for world 3.
Story:
On an island of pirates and sea creatures, aliens converted the inhabitants into dangerous cyborgs.
Unique feature:
When pipes (environmental feature) is hit, it leaks cold stuff that freezes players or monsters that get close.
Rooms are surrounded with water. In fact, some monsters will arrive to the room via ships.
Boss:
Very unique boss. It has a shield that protects it majority of damage.
The main attack of this boss is summoning monsters and cannon balls.
As a secondary attack, it will use its arm to drag whatever it hits after a targeting reticule. If the player gets dragged they receive a ton of damage and instantly dies without buffs or conditions. If a cannon ball gets dragged it will explode and the boss loses its shield for a while.
Additionally some new enemy type gets added to other biomes. Overall they don't look too dangerous.
Some new buffs and conditions.
I don't the new buffs will be too good, depending on their boost degree. The coin shield buff is pretty strong though. I often finish games with tons of coins so it will be much better than the shield+1 buff.
The conditions aren't too strong either. The random effect debuff condition can be a bit challenging though in hard mode. Imagine every attack inflicting burn or poison.
Currently I find the origin a bit boring. Its one of the best material farm but the game play is awful. Mostly just mindless spam upgrade and some afk.
So, here is a better origin as I envision it.
The map is divided into 3 areas.
Green area: the player may place turrets and build stuff here. The goal is to protect the magic stone like usual. The magic stone and helper NPCs like weapon smith are located in the centre of green area. Also contains a new structure called warehouse.
Yellow area: The player can build here, but what they build will get removed every 15 waves. Obstacles in the yellow area are randomized walls and stuff, based on the biome. The randomization is similar to what you expect in level mode rooms, with some indestructible walls and crates and tiles.
Red area: Player cannot go here. Monsters spawn here and move towards the stone in all directions indicated by random portals like usual.
Every 15 waves, the biome is refreshed, and the obstacles in the yellow area changes. The player keeps all their turrets and blindages in the green area though. Turrets and blindages in the yellow area are removed, but they get transferred to a "warehouse" in the green area as items. The player is then free to place them down again.
The rest is mostly the same as normal origin. But with some extra stuff:
When upgrading with turret mechanic, the player can choose to upgrade health (like right now) or upgrade damage of all turret weapons. This is to remove the need to spam turrets and generate tons of lag. Instead, a few well armed and upgraded turrets can take on the hoard with no lag.
So the main idea is to add some obstacles and stuff found in normal mode, to add some real time strategy. The player will need to rearrange defences based on the given environment, making it overall more exciting.
Boss weapons and skins. Not bad. They don't need to pay to unlock either.
Its around this time that real sneak peaks come out. Aside from the rickroll, there hasn't been much. My guess is that shaman will become a character soon, based on the WeChat edition.

After all there is online co op. Why not pvp.
Only a limited arsenal of weapons to choose from. Includes reworks of the most classic weapons out of each category. Pistol, AR, shotgun, bow, sniper, launcher, staff (there is no melee, laser or railgun for balance reasons). These weapons have balanced properties, with no weapon that is definitely stronger than the others. This is to prevent players from getting OP weapons like death note and just killing the opponent instantly.
Weapon projectile speed gets a decrease. Especially shotgun, AR and staff to make it possible to dodge them.
Character health and shield gets doubled. To prevent insta killing (vampire vs sniper).
Bullets of opponents are highlighted in red.
Health and energy pots will spawn at set locations once in a while to cause competition.
2 teams, each with 3 players. 1v1 won't work because the lack of bullets means certain characters can dodge infinitely.
A unique map. There are no monsters or rooms. Just a map with crates and cover.
Losing all hp causes the character to fall like in co op. Teammates can revive them by standing near them.
The first team to defeat all enemies win.
Characters are not allowed to repeat on each team. Triple priest or triple paladin shield is invincible.
These pvp concepts definitely still needs a lot of work on. Certain characters have a clear advantage. Wizard? Landing a lightening impossible to dodge? These will probably need a nerf or reword. For example for wizard, instead of instantly calling a lightening, an AoE lightening will fall at the location after 2 seconds delay. Reworking skills is not impossible, as shown by little commander where many skills are adapted but still retain their signature effect.
I watched a YouTube video about it. No news of it on the official Facebook or twitter yet. So on certain dates, to celebrate lunar new year, certain items will be free in lucky cat shop.
Not sure about how the YouTuber learnt of the news. They might have tampered with the date on their device to view future items, or chillyroom leaked this to them.
Anyway, free items sounds cool to me.
Shaman may randomly pray (visually the "hope" weapon) if you interact.
Not sure when this is added, but I never noticed before. Its definitely added after the appearance of the hope weapon though which is a few months ago.
Might be hint that shaman will start to have a role in the game next update. At least chillyroom is adding actions to them so this might mean something.
