Turrets Rooms are rooms that can be found randomly at any level and offer items at the cost of a battle against turret enemies.
Room
They are indicated by a golden chest mark on the map.
The rooms have two or more pedestals which may contain the following:
Only one of these items may be chosen for free. However, every other platforms with unpicked items will transform into Turret enemies.
Room barriers will close during the battle.
Behaviors
Each Turret has 40 health at 1-X and it gains extra 15 health after each floor, Turrets in 2-X and 3-X will have 55 and 70 health respectively.
- The Turrets' health is affected by the Double JoyEnemy HP +100%.
- This apply to both type of Turret (normal and Rainbow Horse).
- This growing health factor carries over in Matrix of the Lord of Evil mode, resulting absurdly high health pool at high pressure level.
These Turrets will start attacking after roughly one second of delay as they rise from the ground. These turrets deal moderate damage and have a very high fire rate, firing large bullets that split into smaller ones and small, rotating, oval-shaped bullets in bursts.
If there are 3 turret stands, these turrets may be spawned as Unicorns instead. In this case, they will fire a rainbow laser, which does 2 damage on hit. The laser suspends itself for a period after firing, and when the attack is executed, a warning sound plays while a red aiming laser emerges, signifying the oncoming strike. Each defeated Unicorn turret has a slight chance of dropping a Rainbow Horse.
They come in three sizes:
- Small Turret Rooms (2 turret stands) will always contain a potion and a weapon.
- Medium Turrets Rooms (3 turret stands) will contain a potion and two weapons. Occasionally, they will contain a Weapon Blueprint or material instead of a second weapon.
- Large Turrets Rooms (4 turret stands) will contain a potion, 2 weapons and another pedestal with seeds, materials or Weapon Blueprint.
Tips
- The turrets can be very overwhelming by themselves, and nearly impossible to dodge when in groups. It is suggested to prepare a charge weapon as soon as the player grabs an item to hit the turret with maximum power.
- If the player is low on health, consider not grabbing any items and ignore the room.
Trivia
- The Turrets Room was added in Update 1.8.2.
- Unicorn turrets were added in Update 2.7.0.
- Before Update 1.8.5, the Witch's Lightning Strike skill could not hit these turrets.
- Due to a bug, the turrets will still rotate even when stunned.
- The large oval bullets from the turret can push back the Assassin during his skill without dealing damage. This may be a glitch since he is supposed to be unable to be hit by any attack while dashing.
- Before a certain version in Multiplayer, when a player entered a turret room, any other players wouldn't actually be teleported to the same room, which would allow the others to enter the portal to skip an entire fight but still be able to obtain an item. This was an exploit that got patched.
- Also in Multiplayer, it's possible for different players to have different items if there is a blueprint that a player (or players) has but the rest do not. This means that the players that already have that blueprint can't get it again and are shown a different item.
- There is currently a glitch where a Turret converted into a Mummy/Frog by the Staff of Anubis will fail to close entirely upon defeat.
- This does not happen with Necromancer's upgraded Omen Stone skill, which transforms defeated enemies hit by the Plague into skeletons, or the Death Note, both which have similar effects to the Staff of Anubis in one aspect or another.
