Trivia
- This weapon was added in Update 2.0.0.
- Despite being a common weapon it has an absurd forge requirement. This can be explained in the reference below.
- The weapon is a reference to the Tec-9 - Groundwater from the game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO below). Just like in CSGO, the Groundwater, being semi-automatic, is very effective if the player manually pulls the trigger rapidly.
- When set to simplified Chinese, the weapon name has a suffix "崭新出厂" (Factory New). The fact is, in CS:GO, the "Souvenir Factory New" version of Tec-9 "Groundwater" skin is so rare that it can be sold for $300, while other skin variations are only at about $2.00. This may explain that in this game, its price in shops is very high.
- The Cellar description is a reference to a Chinese caster who had shot 17 rounds in two seconds in PUBG.
- In some communities, there is a "Groundwater mansion" joke about the story of someone put some "Groundwater" skins for sale, but inputted a wrong price and a buyer purchased them a lot.
- At Update 2.0.5, Groundwater's base price has been reduced to 328 gold and remains constant at all stages.
- Its forging cost was also reduced by almost half, but is still extremely high for a common weapon. Real-life Tec-9s are relatively easy to produce in comparison.
